
Definitions/comments
Final energy consumption is mostly composed of secondary energy sources such as electricity, fuel, gas or heating oil and is net of own consumption of the energy sector, transformation and distribution losses. One tonne of oil-equivalent is defined as 107 kilocalories (41,868 gigajoules).
